Air freight delivery of an aircraft engine of the type Rolls Royce Trent 800 for our top customer in the aviation & maintenance industry

Due to the fact that in Nairobi a defective aircraft was on the ground (AOG - Aircraft on Ground) we had to deliver a spare engine of the type RR Trent 800 to Nairobi.

As the delivery was very urgent, the engine was at first sent to Amsterdam by means of a low-loader and then finally got to Nairobi by air cargo.

The engine consisted of two parts with an overall weight of 9,758 kg. Due to the large dimensions of the engines, the transportation had to be effected by a cargo airline.

Take-off in Amsterdam was on 9 September 2011 and arrival in Nairobi was 10 September 2011. Customs clearance and delivery in Nairobi was taken over by the national Kenyan airline.
